Unisa TVET College 2024-2025
With a number of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges, the University of South Africa (Unisa) TVET College has an agreement to provide tuition for a variety of qualifications, especially higher certifications.
A few Unisa courses will now be taught at TVET Colleges thanks to recent approval from the Minister of Higher Education and Training. Scroll down to see the courses that will be offered.
Recently, the Minister of Higher Education and Training permitted the following TVET Colleges to offer a few Unisa courses:
- College of Cape Town
- East Cape Midlands College
- Ekurhuleni East College
- Elangeni College
- False Bay College
- Gert Sibande College
- Letaba College
- NorthLink College
- Umfolozi College
- Port Elizabeth College
- West Coast College
- Western College
- South Cape College
Five courses, including a Higher Certificate in Accounting Sciences, Higher Certificate in Banking, Higher Certificate in Economic and Management Sciences, Higher Certificate in Tourism Management, and Higher Certificate in Adult Basic Education and Training, have been approved for teaching at these colleges.
The goal of pursuing a Higher Certificate in Accounting Sciences is to prepare students to conduct basic accounting science tasks such as costing, tax calculations, auditing and internal auditing while under supervision. Elangeni TVET College, Gert Sibande College, Port Elizabeth College, and Western College will all offer instruction for this certificate.
The Higher Certificate in Banking gives students a foundational understanding of bank management theory and principles by introducing them to the banking industry. After graduating, the student will be qualified to start working at entry-level positions in the financial services industry. East Cape Midlands College, False Bay College, Gert Sibande College, Letaba College, NorthLink College, Port Elizabeth College, and Western College will all offer this certification.
The Higher Certificate programme in Economic and Management Sciences is designed to introduce students to the fundamental ideas and concepts of accounting, business management, and economics. Students’ fundamental English ability, numeracy abilities, and computer literacy will all be improved. Students at West Coast College, Umfolozi College, and Elangeni TVET College will be able to earn this qualification.
The College of Cape Town, East Cape Midlands College, Ekurhuleni East College, Elangeni TVET College, and Umfolozi College will all offer the Higher Certificate in Tourism Management.
A Diploma in Adult Basic Education and Training may be articulated from the Higher Certificate in Adult Basic Education and Training. Both South Cape College and Elangeni TVET College will offer instruction for this qualification.
