If you are applying to study at Unisa online application undergraduate second semester 2024-2025, please read the information below thoroughly. We’ve developed a list of the most crucial things you should know before applying.

  • Applications for the following semester will be accepted beginning in June 2024. When making offers, your minimum point total, the number of openings for the applied qualification, and whether you match the academic admission requirements for the desired qualification will all be taken into account.
  • Higher certificates, advanced certificates, degrees, advanced degrees, PGCE, BTech, and additional applications for specified undergraduate qualifications): A few honors degrees and diplomas from graduate school, as well as PhDs and master’s degrees, will be awarded in April 2024: (Some exceptions may apply.)

Admission to Unisa in 2024-2025 application procedures

  • To apply for admission to the 2024-2025 academic year, visit the Unisa website at www.unisa.ac.za or download the 2024 application form in PDF format.

From May 10 through May 2024, applications for undergraduate limited qualifications (higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, and degrees) for the 2024 academic year will be accepted.
Anyone interested in starting a new qualification must apply for admission. This includes

  • First-time applicants to Unisa
  • Unisa students pursuing a new qualification and/or specialty.
  • Applicants who previously sought admission but were not admitted, or who were admitted but did not register.
  • students with a higher certificate or another program who want to continue their undergraduate studies

What has changed in 2024?

  • Unisa is well-known for providing equal and equitable access to higher education. Because of its social responsibility to correct past injustices, Unisa has an application and selection process that efficiently resolves historical imbalances without jeopardizing quality requirements.
  • This strategy fosters a focus on better student support and the alignment of our new student intake with available academic capacity and required infrastructure in order to maximize the chances of success for all students.

Who is expected to apply?

  • Anyone interested in starting a new qualification must apply for admission. This comprises both first-time Unisa applicants and Unisa students who are transferring to a new qualification and/or specialization.
  • You must apply for admission if you are completing a higher certificate and want to continue your undergraduate studies.
  • You must reapply if you previously applied for admission and were offered a space but did not accept the offer and/or did not register for whatever reason.
  • Anyone wishing to enroll in classes at a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college must apply for admission under the Unisa-TVET agreement.

The application procedure

  • In order of choice, you may apply for up to two qualifications (although you may only register for one should both of your qualifications be successful).
    Unisa will notify you of the outcome of your application. If you are successful, Unisa will tell you of the qualification for which you have been accepted and will provide you with a space for the time period for which you applied (ie semester 1).
    You must accept or deny Unisa’s offer within the stipulated time range. If you do not reach the deadline, Unisa will withdraw your offer and assign your position to another candidate.
    First-time applicants must complete the First-Year Experience (FYE) MOOC (massive open online course) before accepting an offer from Unisa.
  • You may only accept one offer. This means that if you accept an offer for one qualification (whether your first or second option), the other offer will be withdrawn instantly.
    If you accept Unisa’s offer, you must enroll throughout the duration of your admission. If you do not register for the relevant semester, you must reapply for admission during the next application period.
