The Honours BEd degree does not serve as a professional teaching certification. This certificate requires at least two academic years to complete (i.e this qualification cannot be completed in one academic year). The maximum number of courses a student may take in their first year is four (PSE4801, RSE4801, CSP4801, ICH4801). Purpose statement:
- The Bachelor of Education with Honours program’s objective is to prepare students for research-based post-graduate courses in education. It helps a student’s understanding of the Foundations of Education and how to use these insights to study a range of educational topics related to their main combinations or stream to be strengthened and expanded. The certification also aims to improve research skills, with a particular emphasis on the techniques and strategies employed in educational research. Students who meet the requirements will be able to conduct research in a particular area and display a strong theoretical foundation in a variety of fields.
This qualification will be delivered using both online and remote learning delivery techniques.
Who may register?
- Applicants may register only after getting word from Unisa that their admissions application has been accepted. If it is revealed that you were improperly admitted to a qualification, Unisa reserves the right to refuse to process and/or delete your registration. Admission to the alternative qualification is not guaranteed. These elements will determine whether you meet the requirements for admission and whether there is room for you.
- Re-registered students can enroll for the 2024 academic year once registration opens.
- Please note: You must submit an online application for the substitute qualification during the allotted application window if you want to start a new qualification.
