You must submit an online application via the unisa online application if you plan to enroll as an undergraduate at unisa in 2024–2025. This method will enable you to submit all of your application materials at once, streamlining and simplifying the application procedure. You can also check the status of your application and make any required adjustments using the online application. Please get in touch with us if you have any questions concerning the online unisa application. We’ll be glad to assist.

Between May and May 31, 2024, applications will be accepted for undergraduate limited qualifications (higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, and degrees) for the 2024–25 academic year.
Anyone who wants to start a new qualification must submit an admissions application. This includes

  • first-time Unisa applicants
  • students at Unisa who are working for a new degree or area of expertise.
  • applicants who previously requested admission but were not given a space or applicants who were given a spot but did not register.
  • students who want to continue their undergraduate studies after completing another program or a higher certificate

What is new in 2024?

  • Unisa is renowned for offering fair and equitable access to possibilities for higher education. Due to its ethical responsibility to rectify historical inequities, Unisa has an application and selection process that efficiently corrects historical imbalances without compromising quality requirements.
  • In order to maximize the chances of success for all students, this procedure promotes concentrating attention on enhanced student support and the alignment of our new student intake with available academic capability and necessary infrastructure.

What is the selection procedure?

  • The selection procedure is centered on the calculation of your individual points score, which takes into consideration your final Grade 12 grades as well as other important variables like the school you attended, your gender, socioeconomic status, race, and so forth.
  • Before submitting an application, please make sure you match the legal and college-specific admission standards as well as the necessary academic points score (APS) (s). From college to college and qualification to qualification, different APS scores are needed. Please refer to each qualification for information on admission requirements.
  • It is important to understand that you won’t be admitted to study at Unisa in 2024 automatically. The number of students who can be accommodated will depend on the number of openings for each qualification.

The procedure for applying

  • Up to two qualifications may be applied for in the preferred order (although you may only register for one should both of your qualifications be successful).
Unisa will let you know how your application turned out. If you are chosen, Unisa will inform you of your acceptance and provide you with a spot for the time period for which you applied (ie semester 1).
  • Unisa’s offer must be accepted or rejected within the time range given. If you don’t comply with this deadline, Unisa will revoke its offer and provide the position to another candidate.
  • First-time applicants must complete the First-Year Experience (FYE) MOOC before accepting an offer from Unisa (a massive open online course).
  • You may accept only one offer. This means that if you accept an offer for one qualification (whether it is your first or second choice), the other offer will be automatically withdrawn.
  • You must enroll for the duration for which you have been admitted if you accept Unisa’s offer. You must submit a fresh application for admission during the following application period if you do not enroll in the relevant semester of study.

Who is required to apply?

  • Anyone who wants to start a new qualification must submit an admissions application. This applies to Unisa applicants who are applying for the first time as well as Unisa students who are switching to a new qualification and/or specialty.
  • You must submit an application if you want to continue your undergraduate studies after earning a higher certificate.
  • You must reapply if you previously applied for admission, were given space, but did not accept the offer, or register for whatever reason.
  • Anyone who wants to enroll in classes at a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college must submit an application for admission in accordance with the Unisa-TVET agreement.
