If you are applying to the University of South Africa (Unisa), we have put together a few helpful application instructions. Please follow these instructions carefully to make the application process as smooth as possible for you

Have you previously applied to any universities? If not, the aforementioned website has simplified the application instructions for you. You should be aware that applying can be challenging, especially if it’s your first time. You need not fret since we are here to assist you in getting admission.

Read the information provided below carefully to learn more about the application instructions.

NB: The majority of universities will require you to take an NBT test to gauge your academic readiness. Please confirm with the institution you are applying to or have chosen whether an NBT result is required for your application. If you’re applying to multiple institutions, you only need to take the NBT once because the results are good for three years.

Deadline;  Ensure you are aware of the precise application deadlines for the university you wish to apply to. Check the closing dates before you apply to avoid any delays.

  • When applying either online or on paper, keep in mind that you will need a unique email address.
  • Keep in mind that some systems won’t accept emails from certain universities: Therefore, it is advised to set up and utilize a Gmail and Yahoomail account for the application.
  • When beginning the application process, keep in mind that certain universities only take paper copies while others only accept online applications. Some provide both.

Exam Results: The most recent Grade 11 and Grade 12 results are crucial for your application (Grade 11 if currently you doing grade 12). Some universities permit the use of these results when applying. So, keep it close at hand.

Financial Support: It might be challenging to continue your study without financial support. You might be eligible if your family’s income is below a particular threshold. You will need to fill out a separate form and provide documentation of your parent or guardian’s income.

Current Year’s Activity: If you’re in Matric, the university needs your school marks and school activity details.

Supporting Documents; A Certified copy of your ID – Parent’s/guardian’s ID – Exam results – Proof of payment of application fee receipt. Residence – Most recent pay slip. Send only a photo copy of it not the original. If you took a gap year they’ll need travelling or working details.

Accurate Details: Kindly be sure to check your details before submitting online. If you fill out a hard copy, please use a pencil before filling it out with a blue or black pen.

Pay the Application Fee:  Verify the required amount and either pay it by EFT or at the bank. Don’t ever post the costs. If a payment receipt is needed, send it to the university.

Signing the Declaration:  Make sure your information is accurate and factual by carefully reading the form. If you make even a small error, you risk being denied admission; both you and your parent or legal guardian must sign the form.

Acceptance: A formal email or letter informing you of your acceptance will be issued to you. Because of this, we already specified that you have a functional email account. Keep up the good work and make the minimum initial payment by the deadline.

Therefore, once you have finished reading the aforementioned application instructions and have everything we have said in mind, you are done and can apply.
