  • Applications will start to be accepted in June 2024 for the following semester. When making offers, consideration will be given to your minimum points total, the number of openings for the applied qualification, and if you meet the academic entrance requirements for the desired qualification.
  • Higher certifications, advanced certificates, degrees, advanced degrees, PGCE, BTech, and other selected undergraduate qualifications applications): April 2024: a few honors degrees and diplomas from graduate school
    PhDs and master’s degrees: (A few exclusions may apply)

Application procedures for admission to Unisa in 2024–2025

  • Go to the Unisa website at www.unisa.ac.za to submit a direct online application for admission to the 2024–2025 academic year or to download the 2024 application form in PDF format.

Additional Documents

  • First-time applicants and current Unisa students who are starting a new qualification should provide the relevant papers if they want to be considered for admission to Unisa 2024 for a new qualification. The required files must be uploaded prior to the application deadline for you as well. Please be informed that after the 2024–2025 application deadline, Unisa will not accept any documents.

In order to complete the application procedure, the following files are needed:

  • a certified copy of your academic transcript (Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
  • a copy of your official transcripts from any post-secondary schooling. Please take note that there won’t be any online copies available.
  • a duplicate of your passport, RSA student ID, or another form of identity (international students)
  • a duplicate of your divorce or marriage certificate, if applicable.
  • In the event that the documents are not in Afrikaans or English, a sworn translation must be offered.
  • Before you begin the application process, make sure all of your paperwork has been scanned and transferred to a digital device.

Fill out the form completely.

  • You are responsible for ensuring that your application is complete. You must reapply during the upcoming application session if your application for admission to Unisa 2024-2025 is incomplete.
