Then you apply for study funding at National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), you can usually expect feedback few days after the application closing date. However, if you still haven’t heard back from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) it might be time to take things into your own hands. If the status of your application is “Provisionally Funded”, please contact Unisa’s Division: Student Funding (DSF). Please contact NSFAS for all other outcomes, as NSFAS is responsible for the application process.

Everyone wanting to start a new qualification must apply for admission. This includes first-time Unisa applicants and Unisa students changing to a new qualification.
Everyone completing a Higher Certificate or different Pathway / Extended Programme must apply for admission to the follow-on qualification.
You must re-apply for admission if you previously applied for admission and received feedback, but did not register for any reason.
Everyone planning to register for classes at a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college under the Unisa-TVET agreement must apply for admission.
Please note: You must re-apply for admission if you previously applied for admission and were offered a space, but did not accept the offer and / or did not register for any reason.
South African Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of R105 for online applications.
Applicants applying via Unisa for a TVET college can use a hardcopy application – the application fee for this is R160.
