Use the UNISA Invigilator App starting in 2024–2025.

  • As test season approaches, Unisa students who will soon be taking online tests may be interested in becoming familiar with the Unisa Invigilator App. The following are some possible uses for the Unisa Invigilator App.
  • The University of South Africa (Unisa), an open-distance e-learning school, carries out the vast bulk of its academic activities online. The university’s online tests are monitored via an online application.
  • Consequently, it’s crucial that Unisa students understand how to download and use the Unisa Invigilator App.

The following steps must be taken by students before using the app:

  • Users can check if the Invigilator app is watching their module by choosing The Invigilator (invigilatorapp.herokuapp.com). If none of a student’s courses are being invigilated, they won’t be able to register for the invigilator app.
  • Three days before their first test, download the Invigilator app.

  • You can download the app from the app store on your smartphone. (Take care to update your phone’s operating system so that you can download and use the app properly.)
  • Once the app has been launched, select “Register as a student.”
  • By entering your UNISA email address and a password, complete the necessary fields.
  • Finally, click “SIGN UP.”
  • Verify your account by taking the recommended actions.
  • If you complete the calibration on the app, the invigilator will be able to use your microphone and camera while taking the online exam.
  • On the app, you will be required to take a “Master Selfie” that displays your whole face.
  • After completing this, you may log in using the email address and password you chose when you registered.
  • Unisa has recommended students register in advance and make use of the student user guide provided by the Invigilator App in order to get ready for their online exams. You can use this guide to learn how to install the App and take a demo test.

This is how students can use the Unisa Invigilator app if they only have one device (a cellphone):

  • Use the Invigilator App to scan the QR codes issued by the module lecturers on the module webpages one day before the exam and/or the exam question paper.
  • The QR code can be triggered 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the exam’s planned start time.
  • then select “access LMS” from the menu that appears in the top right corner of the app.
  • You can access the myExams website by going to https://myexams.unisa.ac.za/portal.
  • Click the relevant module.
  • then sign up and access the test.
  • begin your evaluation
  • As and when prompted by the Invigilator app, fulfill the demands.
  • Scan the answer script and upload it to the official Unisa myExams site at https://myexams.unisa.ac.za/portal/ after the invigilation is complete
  • Students must submit their answer scripts because both the Invigilator App AND the myExams platform need them to.
  • Submissions of the answer script made just via the Invigilator App will not be accepted as legitimate submissions.
  • Once the evaluation session has ended, the invigilation is complete.
  • Students have one hour to submit their answer sheets on myExams following the exam’s scheduled session finish time.
