You must satisfy the particular entrance requirements for the qualification you have chosen in order to be admitted to Unisa.

  • A Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption or meet the criteria for the Matriculation Board’s exemption with a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall, 3.0 on the math scale, and 3.0 on the language of instruction. a National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) with at least 50% of the necessary credits in the language of instruction, at least 40% of the necessary mathematics, or at least 50% of the necessary mathematical literacy credits
  • A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 60 in three core topics, including the language of instruction, and a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 70 in four vocational subjects of your choosing from the NCV level 4 subjects are required for a National Certificate Vocational (NCV) Level 4. BEd degree eligibility has been granted for the following courses: The level at which business, commerce, and management sciences services, education, training, and development, math, and natural science are all taught is known as First Additional Language.
  • If the applicant satisfies the aforementioned conditions, they should think about submitting an application for a Higher Certificate.

Application costs for loans and financial aid

Requesting permission

The open and continuous application methodology used by Unisa allows for the year-round acceptance of applications.
Keep in mind the following:

  • All admissions applications must be filed online between January and March 2024. The regional offices won’t have any self-help areas open for applications.
  • No one is automatically admitted to a qualification. Whether you meet the prerequisites for admission and whether there is space for you will depend on these two factors.
  • Not all qualifications are constantly available. The online application form will only accept qualifications for open positions.
  • Through TVET universities, further help is offered for this qualification.

According to an agreement between Unisa and various Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges, training must be provided in a particular set of credentials. Those who enroll in these courses advance more quickly than before.

Remember the following:

  • See if the TVET school of your choosing can assist you in obtaining certification.
    Through your TVET college or Unisa, submit an application for admission during the application period.
